October 12, 2004 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Bezeq International, an international subsidiary of Israeli telecommunications monopoly holder Bezeq (bezeq.co.il), had approximately 1,000 of the Web sites it hosts go offline after the company was disconnected by its Web hosting provider Verio (verio.com), according to a report by Haaretz.com.

Bezeq and Verio have reportedly been involved in a commercial dispute over financial issues and customer service policy.

According to the report, talks broke down last week, causing Verio to disconnect Bezeq’s service, leaving the sites offline.

Bezeq is working on supplying alternative hosting services for the stranded customers and claims to have backed up data, the report said.
