August 13, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Hosted application and provisioning solutions provider Abridean (abridean.com) announced on Wednesday that USA.NET (usa.net) has deployed Abridean’s Provisor for BlackBerry Enterprise Server solution to manage thousands of USA.NET Hosted BlackBerry users.
AbrideanProvisor is an application provisioning and management platform that enables service providers like USA.NET to automate and simplify the maintenance of hosted enterprise applications, says the company. USA.NET has been using ProvisorSP for its Hosted Exchange services since 2001.
“Customer demand and our success with Hosted BlackBerry prompted us to make our provisioning process even more efficient,” says Steve O’Brien, USA.NET senior director of services development. “With abrideanProvisor we can now manage BlackBerry smartphones using the same Web interface that our service desk and customer administrators use for provisioning their Hosted Exchange accounts. This is significant for us and for Abridean because of the ever-wider use of BlackBerry devices for mission critical functions that can benefit from hosted services.”
An increasing number of companies have found that combination of hosted email and BlackBerry services permits much greater concentration on their core business, while cutting down on the time and resources required to run an email system and give remote and mobile employees better communication capabilities, says Abridean.
