September 1, 2004 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Telecommunications and Web hosting provider SBC Communications Inc. (sbc.com) announced last week that it has signed a contract to manage data applications for Unocal Corporation, a US-based independent oil and gas exploration and production company.

Under the three-year contract, SBC E-Services will provide Unocal with SBC PremierSERV Data Center Hosting, including managed services. Also, SBC companies will provide GigaMAN service with a dedicated fiber-optic point-to-point gigabit Ethernet service to connect Unocal’s El Segundo, California Headquarters and its Brea, California Location to the SBC Internet data center in Irvine, California.
