(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) – Unified communications solutions provider Alteva announced on Tuesday that it is now an authorized reseller of MozyPro, an online data backup solution.
According to the press release, by joining the Mozy Reseller Program, Alteva can provide customers with an online backup service in addition to its existing VoIP and UC offerings.
MozyPro protects documents for businesses and has a simple web-based administration console to manage multiple users. Mozy says its backup solutions can be used for desktops, laptops and servers.
Web hosting providers with a small and medium-sized business customer base could offer MozyPro as a value-add, especially those looking to expand their cloud and data storage offerings.
More than 6,000 resellers sell MozyPro, according to its website. Resellers have access to its portal, training center, sales and marketing collateral, and promotions and contests. Mozy also offers Accredited and Premier resellers higher discounts, co-marketing opportunities, and co-branding of the MozyPro client and web system.
“With electronic data on the rise, many companies are transitioning to electronic filing, making automated backup of files crucial. In the event of a disaster, companies should not have to worry about losing critical business data,” Elizabeth Backus, product manager, Alteva said in a statement. “While traditional backup solutions can be expensive and take weeks to set up, a reliable online backup solution like MozyPro can be setup by Alteva in a fraction of the time, with no setup fees, or hardware purchases. Additionally, having one provider that offers a complete suite of cloud services eliminates the need to manage multiple vendors.”
Alteva adds MozyPro to its portfolio of cloud services including hosted VoIP, hosted Microsoft Communication Services, fixed mobile convergence, video and web conferencing, advanced voice applications for PCs and data connectivity.
“Data backup is a critically important consideration when planning for disaster recovery. If you don’t have a consistent strategy for backup, you are opening the door to liabilities and huge losses in revenue and reputation,” Louis Hayner, executive vice president and chief sales officer, Alteva said in a statement. “By providing MozyPro back up services through Alteva we can present our customers with another trusted solution that will protect their business from data loss and help them avoid costly delays in the event of downtime.”
