(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — After a storage array failure last week that made some customers loose email access, another string of intermittent outages are underway as web host UK2.net (www.uk2.net) works to complete an email migration.
Last week, managing director Martin Baker told news site The Register that customer data was safe and would be would be migrated by Sunday evening, however, it reported Monday that, while all emails are accounted for, the target deadline for moving them has been pushed back until Monday night.
“We are currently performing emergency maintenance on mercury.safeukdns.net due to this the server is currently offline, our engineers are working on this and will have the server back online asap,” reads a company blog post.
UK2 has also identified a password migration issue, which it is investigating. Those unable to access their account due to a password authentication can place a support ticket request and have their password reset manually.
It is unclear how many UK2 customers have been affected.
