(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — In a press release that contained three separate announcements, UK Web hosting provider UK2 (www.uk2.net) announced on Monday it has partnered with Microsoft to offer its customers £50 discount when they buy a Windows server and sign up to Microsoft’s WebsiteSpark.
r
Launched in October, Microsoft’s WebsiteSpark helps small Web development and design firms with 10 or less employees, providing them with free software, support and business opportunities for up to three years.
r
The program would give qualified UK2 customers free access to some of Microsoft’s latest applications such as Windows Server 2008.
r
UK2′s Windows server customers can sign up to WebsiteSpark to receive free tools, support and training.
r
Customers can now sign up to WebsiteSpark by contacting the UK2 sales team.
r
The company also revealed that it recently launched its new data center in London, situated within sight of Canary Wharf.
r
Previously occupied by Virgin Media, the facility has been equipped to a “world class standard,” says the company.
r
First acquired in August, the data center is fully fitted and features diverse dark fibre, power suppliers and will be managed all year round by UK2 staff.
r
“We are particularly excited about the launch of our new data center,” says Martin Baker, UK2 managing director. “Not only will this help us cater for the increasing demand for our servers, but it will also help us maintain the high standards our customers expect from us.”
r
To celebrate the launch of the new data center, UK2 is currently offering customers a “Buy One Get One Half Price” promotion on all its dedicated server products.
r
The offer allows customers to buy one server and get half price off another server of equivalent value or less.
r
The promotion is valid on any new UK2 server purchase on a three months, six months and one year contract.
r
Additionally, the first 120 UK2 Windows server customers that sign up for WebsiteSpark will also receive the previously mentioned £50 discount.
