(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — UK Web hosting provider UK2 (www.uk2.net) announced on Monday it has acquired a new data center in London, UK.
“We are extremely happy to announce our acquisition of a new data center,” says UK2 managing director Martin Baker. “This is a strategic move for UK2, allowing us to increase investment in data connectivity and ensure we have sufficient capacity for traditional services and our expanding cloud offering VPS.NET.”
The newly acquired data center previously occupied by renowned companies such as AT&T, NTL and Virgin Media.
Located within sight of Canary Wharf, the facility is fully fitted and features diverse dark fibre, power suppliers and will be managed all year round by UK2 staff.
In the last three months alone, UK2 has deployed over 6,000 virtual servers using its cloud hosting product VPS.NET, which launched its beta trial earlier this year.
The new data center space will ensure that UK2 has enough capacity to accomodate the increasing demand.
The company says that its customers can also expect to see a re-launch of some of its discounted server offers.
UK2 provides a wide range of services, including domain name registration, web hosting, e-commerce, reseller, dedicated server and cloud hosting solutions.
