(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — UK Web hosting provider ICUK (www.icukhosting.co.uk) announced on Thursday it has acquired fellow hosting and communication solutions provider CIX Online (www.cix.co.uk). The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
As one of Europe’s most popular conferencing system providers, CIX Online also provides Web hosting and Internet connectivity solutions. Founded in 1987, the company has a broad customer base of 7,000 users.
As part of this acquisition, ICUK said it plans to integrate these products within its control panel for existing ICUK customers to expand the product portfolio available to them.
ICUK specializes in Web hosting, telecommunications and broadband services, serving over 30,000 customers in the wholesale, SME and retail markets, including CBI, Arts Council, British Gas, 118118.com and the NHS.
The company provides reseller hosting, shared hosting, email hosting, domain registration, and dedicated servers, as well as broadband, messaging, and home and business phone.
“The acquisition strengthens our portfolio and presents some very exciting opportunities,” ICUK said in a statement. “We are committed to supplying our current range of high quality broadband, hosting and telecom solutions, and aim to apply our philosophies to CIX’s development road map.”
