(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — UK Web hosting provider Heart Internet (www.heartinternet.co.uk) announced on Wednesday it has launched an all-in-one domain and social media username search tool.
Named the 360 Name Finder, the new tool allows users to search for the availability of their desired name across major domain extensions.
But while most domain finder tools only allow you to look at domain name extensions, 360 Name Finder also includes major social media networks as part of the search.
The search tool includes results from a range of social media communities including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Digg, Delicious, and Foursquare.
Users can then register the domain and usernames directly from the search results page.
“With so many different ways of developing your online identity or business marketing channels, consistency is key,” says Heart Internet director Jonathan Brealey. “This goes not just for the design, but also the name you use online. The more consistent you are with your name, the more likely it is people are going to remember you and the more professional you look.”
The 360 Name Finder is free for everyone to use, whether they are a Heart Internet customer or not.
The tool is an interesting strategic move for Heart Internet in that it simplifies the registering process of a brand name on major social media networks.
Like many shared Web hosts, the company is facing stiff competition as Facebook continues to become a free alternative solution for basic hosting needs.
Tools like 360 Name Finder offer a value-added product for customers and further encourages them to sign up for Heart Internet’s hosting services.
