(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) – Cloud and managed hosting provider DediPower (www.dedipower.com) announced on Tuesday the winners of the 2011 DediPower Digital Awards.

The DediPower UK Young Digital Entrepreneur award, 17-24 age group, went to Piran Watson for the concept for a website that stores receipts generated when using credit and debit cards.

“This award will change my life.  I knew I had a good idea but as a student with little business experience I didn’t know how to get it off the ground – I felt like a sheep among the wolves,” Piran Watson said in a statement. “With someone like, Chris and his team at DediPower to guide me, I feel I have the support to make this happen.”

DediPower’s UK Digital Innovation Award, 25-30 age group, went to Swedish-born Christer Holloman, Ledvig Freij and Anders Hallsten for their visual search and price comparison website ATTYER.com for online clothing shopping.

Co-founder of DediPower, Craig Martin, presented the awards, citing the recipients’ ability to “identify and develop ideas with powerful commercial applications” and said that “harnessing young minds and hi-tech skills is at the art of the country’s future economic success.”

Both winners will receive cash funding, DediPower managed hosting and business mentoring as part of their prizes.

“We were looking for strong ideas with market viability and found them,” Chris Miller, CEO, DediPower and chairman of the judging panel stated. “I am looking forward to mentoring our winners over this coming year; and introducing them to others who can have a profound effect on developing their businesses.”

The judges included Martin, Miller, Kamal Ahmed, Sunday Telegraph Business Editor, Paul Smart of Lloyds TSB and Bob Clift of eSkillsUK.
