UK web hosting provider Astutium announced on Wednesday that it has completed the acquisition of three Greek web hosting companies. The financial terms of the acquisitions were not disclosed.
Ultranet Web Solutions, HostGreece and UFastHost all specialize in cPanel web hosting, and offer email, DNS services, and .GR domain registrations as well.
cPanel hosting seems to be a focus for Astutium. Its last acquisition, closed in November, was Cyberstrider, a web host specializing in cPanel.
“We are really excited to have completed our latest strategic acquisitions. Astutium have extend our domain registration services by becoming a directly accredited .GR domain registrar, and immediately added more than a thousand .gr, .com.gr, .net.gr and .edu.gr registrants,” Rob Golding, head of mergers and acquisitions for Astutium said.
Astutium said it has completed the integration of the three hosting companies, migrating their services to new hardware on its network. With the integration, customers gain access to Unified, Astutium’s online client portal, which allows realtime management of web hosting accounts from one single location.
“The Ultranet and HostGreece brands primarily served local business websites, so were a perfect fit for Astutium, kickstarting our growth in Greece with hundreds of SMEs and end users, and look forward to working them and many more clients from the region over the coming years,” Golding said.
Astutium is upfront about its intention for acquiring hosting businesses from owners that are looking to “liquidate” their business in order to start a new venture or who want a “speedy exit route.”
It is particularly interested in web hosts that are Nominet members or UK-based hosting resellers, but these acquisitions will help it gain a foothold in the Greek hosting market, expanding its European hosting presence.
