UK web hosting provider RapidSwitch announced on Monday that it has extended its network into the US.
By establishing Points of Presence in Atlanta, Phoenix, Boston, Los Angeles, Dallas, New Jersey and Chicago, RapidSwitch UK customers can host their infrastructure in multiple geographies.
In expanding to the US, RapidSwitch aims to cover both the East and West coasts in order to deliver low-latency bandwidth to customers across the country.
“We are now offering a secure inter-linked network connection, primarily for UK customers who want to deliver secure, global platforms without the worry of building relationships with multiple providers in different time zones,” Neil Christie, commercial director of RapidSwitch said in a statement.
iomart Group, RapidSwtich’s parent company, has been expanding its UK presence steadily over the past couple of years through acquisitions. Most recently, iomart acquired UK web host Redstation for $12.4 million.
RapidSwitch has a data center in Maidenhead, UK, which was expanded in 2011. The UK data center hosts customers including B2B online marketplace Recycling.com and online task management software Plancake.
