(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — UK-based cloud solutions provider Flexiant (www.flexiant.com) announced on Monday it has launched the latest version of its infrastructure-as-a-service offering FlexiScale.
The company says the technology enables start-ups and SMEs who stream video, use social networking or SaaS to grow from one server to one thousand servers in a matter of seconds.
“This release is the first of many incremental enhancements to our FlexiScale products,” Flexiant’s founder Tony Lucas said in a statement. “We know our customers will in particular appreciate the far wider range of RAM and CPU configurations and the metadata service will open up a wide range of new possibilities for image providers and those using our platform for automatic virtual server instantiation.”
FlexiScale’s pay-as-you-go virtual servers can be put up or taken down in less than a minute, ensuring IT resources are shaped in quick response to dynamic market conditions.
Powered by Extility, FlexiScale reduces time, energy and effort spent on IT investment.
A cost-effective alternative to developing a cloud computing platform in-house, Extility has a real time user interface and integrated billing engine capabilities.
According to the company’s website, FlexiScale was Europe’s first cloud platform.
Features of FlexiScale 2.1 include ten additional configurations of virtual servers, up to eight virtual CPUs per virtual server, a metadata service enabling customers and image vendors to pass a hierarchy of data to virtual servers for dynamic runtime configuration and support for Cohesive-FT’s VPN-Cubed virtual server images, allowing customer controlled networking across multiple clouds, and between private infrastructure and the clouds.
Flexiant recently secured a $1.55 million investment to further develop its Exility cloud computing technology and FlexiScale platform.
The funding round was backed by over 20 angel investors and the management team.
