(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider NaviSite announced on Wednesday that IT solutions and services provider Richardson Eyres has added NaviCloud to its portfolio of cloud offerings.

According to the press release, this partnership will help  Richardson Eyres meet the growing demand for cloud-based managed services in Europe. The UK-wide partnership will cover all of NaviSite’s product range.

This announcement follows the recent launch of NaviSite’s cloud node and is the culmination of 12 months of association between NaviSite and Richardson Eyres.

Richardson Eyres says it chose NaviSite over other cloud platform providers after a lengthy period of in-depth analysis.

“We’re very pleased to enter into partnership with such a well respected player in the UK enterprise market. It is a fantastic testament to the strength of our technology and the service we provide our clients,” Philip Cheek, managing director, NaviSite Europe Limited said in a statement. “The past year has seen demand for cloud-based services grow markedly and this looks set to continue as IT departments look to deliver business critical technology services better, faster and more cost-effectively. Our partnership with Richardson Eyres will help us expand the scope of our services, allowing us to add to our portfolio of customers in the UK.”

According to its website, Richardson Eyres provides infrastructure virtualization, business continuity and desktop virtualization worldwide to customers in legal services, shipping, food, pharmaceuticals, banking and construction.

“Having long provided our customers with IT solutions and services typically focussed on saving businesses time and making them more profitable, we understand the importance of a robust infrastructure,” Adam Kemp, CEO of Richardson Eyres said in a statement. “Increasingly our customers are enquiring about cloud services and we recognise the importance of moving into that space, but doing so with due diligence. NaviSite represents a positive move forward in our product line and with the obvious synergies between our two companies we are confident in bringing our customers a best of breed cloud service.”

In December 2011, NaviSite launched a set of enhancements to its AppCenter cloud management portal to provide customers with increased security, visibility and control for their enterprise applications.
