May 28, 2004 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — IBM (ibm.com) announced that it has been chosen to provide technology-enabled business transformation services and IT outsourcing for the UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). The multi-year contract was signed on Thursday.

IBM said it would build on existing Defra systems to facilitate improvements in its service delivery to Defra staff, the department’s partners and wider stakeholders.
