January 23, 2008 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Disaster recover solution provider Sonasoft (sonasoft.com) announced on Tuesday that video game publisher Ubisoft (ubisoft.com) has deployed Sonasoft’s SonaSafe solution to protect its Microsoft SQL servers.
Ubisoft says it selected Sonasoft’s solution because it was looking for an integrated solution that provided data protection, high availability and disaster recovery for its servers in Montreal, Canada, Paris, France and San Francisco, California.
After deploying SonaSafe, Ubisoft says it was able to implement an effective disaster recovery solution, its data warehouse now gets refreshed every hour and due to the more current and accurate reports coming out of the DW refresh, users have been launching fewer queries in the production system, meaning less contentions on the production database and application, says the company.
“We tested many products and selected Sonasoft’ SonaSafe solution because replication is done on a data level and it verifies and validates data before applying on the target database,” says Amir Shafi, senior manager of business applications of Ubisoft. “The solution provides both data protection and disaster recovery at one fourth of the cost and Sonasoft provides excellent customer service.” Earlier this month, Sonasoft partnered with Integra Micro Systems to enhance its product development efforts.
