May 19, 2004 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Trustix (trustix.com), developer of the Linux-based server platform Trustix Operating System, introduced a new pay as you go pricing model for purchasing Trustix Operating System licenses. The Trustix Operating System is a key component of the company’s digital certification services.

According to Trustix, the subscription model is designed to match the billing cycle of Web hosting providers. Trustix said the model offers predictability and flexibility for both sides and gives hosting providers greater control over costs.

“The ability to scale up and scale down licenses on a monthly basis perfectly matches the business model of the Web hosting community,” says Michael Whittman, chief financial officer for Trustix. “Working closely with thousands of our Web hosting partners has been critical to our success as the fastest growing certification authority in 2003. We have always listened to our Web host customers and subsequently created packages which have met their needs, both in terms of pricing levels and private branding capabilities for SSL. What leasing has done for the car industry, Trustix now does to the operating system market, allowing customers to pay for only want they need each month in perfect synergy with their own pricing models.”
