(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Unified communications, security, data center and wireless solutions provider Troubadour (www.troubadourltd.com) is using the Nimsoft Monitoring Solution from Unified monitoring solutions provider Nimsoft (www.nimsoft.com) to create an advanced service offering called ClientView, as part of its new virtual data center offering.
Able to initially support up to 5,000 virtual hosts, Troubadour’s new service provides a hosted cloud environment for customers’ mission-critical systems and applications. According to Nimsoft’s Monday announcement, ClientView will provide Troubadour’s customers highly scalable monitoring and alerting, as well as help Troubadour further differentiate its extensive security, high availability and IP telephony offerings in the Southwestern US market. It will also provide customers with the tools they need for improving the performance and security of their critical business applications.
“We wanted a highly-scalable solution that made our clients feel like they were getting the best deal on the market,” Troubadour co-founder and sales and marketing executive vice president Jay Kirby said in a statement. “With Nimsoft, we can monitor on-site devices as well as devices and applications hosted in our cloud environment. NMS allows us to provide this collaborative model with a high degree of built-in flexibility and customization, while helping us deliver the high availability of systems and applications our customers expect.”
With Nimsoft, the virtual data center service can provide constant monitoring and alerting, as well as dashboard-level views of individual environments, which can also be customized to meet their specific business needs. Customers can access the same dashboards over the Web any time, from any browser. Using the flexible customization features of NMS, Troubadour can even create dashboards with customer logos and branding.
NMS also enables Troubadour to deliver a unified monitoring solution with a flexible pricing model, which is ideal for managed service delivery. As well, by adding monitoring as a managed service, Troubadour adds value that helps close new deals and retain existing business.
“In the highly competitive cloud infrastructure space where Troubadour operates, differentiated value is absolutely essential to growth and profitability,” Nimsoft senior vice president and general manager Gary Read said in a statement. “With Nimsoft, Troubadour can achieve this differentiation with advanced monitoring services that can be adaptively priced to meet the needs of customers who only want to pay for what they need, when they need it.”
Last month, Web hosting and cloud computing solutions provider SoftLayer (www.softlayer.com) chose NMS as the standard monitoring platform for its managed hosting customers.
In March, Nimsoft was bought by IT management software and solutions firm CA Technologies (www.ca.com) for approximately $350 million.
