The Planet Picks RLX Servers, Software
Verio Attracts Resellers with Free Month of VPS Hosting: Companies looking to boost revenues are finding Verio's Free VPS promotion the right fit for getting started as Hosting Reseller.
"We are thrilled that The Planet has chosen our RLX RackModule Systems and Control Tower XT," said Doug Erwin, chief executive officer of RLX Technologies. "We have worked hard to build manageability into all of our server technology while also providing industry-leading performance and reliability. We're proud that The Planet will now be able to extend this manageability to its own customers as well."
The Planet's deployment of RLX technology support its recently introduced "Total Control Servers" packages. The plan includes a RLX RackModule server with up to dual 2.8 GHz Intel Xeon processors, SCSI Hard Drives, 2000 GB bandwidth, system event alerts and monitoring, vulnerability assessments, private VLAN, Red Hat Linux or Windows 2003, and a 100 percent uptime service-level agreement. The company said Control Tower XT will help it provide 24/7 server monitoring, automate repetitive server administration tasks such as patch or application updates, and reduce overall server deployment time.
"We are giving our new clients a 24-hour up-and-running guarantee. With RLX Control Tower XT, we are able to add a new server to the data center rack and provision it with a new operating system or other applications in minutes," said Lance Crosby, chief operating officer of The Planet. "We are able to get a new server online and ready for our clients in 30 minutes to an hour. Previously, this task would take at least 3 to 5 days to complete. Our clients are amazed when we call them in only a few hours to let them know their server is ready to roll."
