The Planet Extends Server Options

December 19, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Dedicated hosting provider The Planet (theplanet.com) announced on Tuesday it has extended its full hardware and software configurability for all new servers.

Customers can now add additional RAM or upgrade hard drives to meet power requirements for its most affordable, entry-level servers. The Web host is also offering new options on the Celeron 2.0, Pentium 4-2.4 and the Conroe 3040 models.

“Customers have indicated a preference for more powerful entry-level options, and we’re responding,” says Urvish Vashi, The Planet’s director of product management. “Together with our extensive server fleet, any company looking for hosting requirements can find what they need at The Planet. In addition, our six world-class data centers provide unparalleled network quality, with around-the-clock service and support.”

The Planet announced last week it officially opened the doors to its new headquarters at the Bayou Place entertainment complex in Houston, Texas.
