Thawte says its systems are fully internationalized across all certificate enrolment details, including its Code Signing certificate product lines.

The company says internationalized domain names should be secured with their own certificates so that the URL in the browser will match the contents of the certificate. Thawte says its certificates will also display the internationalized domain in local language characters.

According to thawte, 92 percent of the world speaks a primary language other than English. It says 48 percent of Internet users are not native English speakers, and by 2007 Chinese is expected to be the number one language on the Web.
