(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Managed IT infrastructure services provider Terremark Worldwide (www.terremark.com) announced on Tuesday it has named Marvin Wheeler, former chief operations officer and president of the company’s US commercial business unit, as chief strategy officer.

In this new role, Wheeler will lead the ongoing development of Terremark’s corporate strategy and finding key opportunities to drive continued growth for the company, including potential acquisitions.

His new duties will focus on directing corporate initiatives and developing strategic alliances with key corporate partners.

Wheeler will work closely with Terremark’s product development, operations and sales teams, to directly align overall corporate strategies with the continued development of innovative products and services.

“While Terremark has experienced exponential growth over the past several years, our continued focus on execution and tightly aligning our business plan with market demand and technological advancements will be vital as we continue our growth,” says Manuel D. Medina, Terremark cirman and CEO. “Marvin’s vast experience and deep understanding of our dynamic industry, combined with his proven track record of success, will help us develop strategic alliances with key partners and capitalize on various opportunities to extend our successful growth trajectory.”

In his close to 10 years with Terremark, Wheeler has played a key role in the development of Terremark’s uniquely differentiated business model.

He joined Terremark after more than 20 years managing data center and network operations for many telecommunications companies.

Nelson Fonseca will take over Wheeler’s former role of Terremark’s chief operating officer.

During his eight years at the company, Fonseca has held various key management positions including president of Terremark’s public sector business Unit, senior VP of sales for Terremark federal group, and VP of commercial sales.

These managerial changes will take place on November 15, says Terremark.
