(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) – Template provider TemplateMonster (www.templatemonster.com) announced last week that it has released a new product, Razor Templates, as part of a Microsoft WebMatrix project designed to simplify website development.

Microsoft officially launched its free Web development tool, WebMatrix, on Thursday.

Coded with a new Razor syntax of WebMatrix, Razor Templates were made specifically for Microsoft’s website development solution. Razor Templates are compatible with any text editor, and offer a simplified way to create ASP.NET Web pages by quoting code inline with HTML. With WebMatrix built-in publisher support, TemplateMonster says it is easy to publish the site to a hosting provider using FTP, FTPS or MSDeploy.

“Among our customers there are many professionals that appreciate the quality of Web development products provided by Microsoft,” David Braun, CEO of TemplateMonster said in a statement. “And because of that, and because Microsoft WebMatrix is truly a great Web development tool, there was no way we could ignore this new launch from Microsoft. We feel confident that Razor Templates will provide users of WebMatrix with enhanced functionality and significant value to help them streamline Web development process.”

WebMatrix enables customers to edit and manage their site’s content within a browser interface. It is equipped with built-in helper functions for integration of social networking tools like Twitter and Facebook, video embedding, and one-click deployment of PayPal, among other features.

“Microsoft places a great deal of importance on our partner ecosystem. With Razor Templates, Template Monster’s customers are able to transition from development to production of the website smoothly and seamlessly using Microsoft WebMatrix, while utilizing additional Microsoft products like SQL Server Compact, which means a less complex installation experience,” Adam Seligman, senior director of global web evangelism at Microsoft. “By taking advantage of the new WebMatrix capabilities, Template Monster delivers on small, simple and seamless solutions to our joint customers.”

TemplateMonster offers ten different razor templates on its website.
