Telx Names VP of Sales for Western Region

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Colocation and data center provider Telx (www.telx.com) announced on Tuesday it has named Paul Hopkins as its new vice president of sales for Western region.

The announcement follows the addition of 20,000 square feet of new data center space to Telx’s building at 56 Marietta Street in Atlanta, bringing a higher power density within the area.

Hopkins will manage sales and business activities on the West coast, Dallas and Chicago through the company’s teams.

He brings 15 years of experiencing, serving in various sales positions at Exodus, Savvis, Cable & Wireless and SBC.

Most recently, Hopkins was the vice president of direct and channel sales for the Western region at remote infrastructure management firm IPSoft.

“Telx has been very successful replicating its strategy and demonstrating its value proposition on the West Coast,” says Bill Kolman, executive vice president of sales for Telx. “As a result we are complementing our strong sales team in place in the Western region with key leadership positions. Paul brings local market knowledge, a proven track record of sales and management success during his career and we’re pleased to have the benefit of his expertise.”

The colo firm’s Western region operations have recently seen significant growth as demand and new opportunities progresses in the areas of high-tech, cloud computing, Web 2.0 and media and entertainment.
