Telx's data center in downtown Los Angeles.
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Colocation and network services provider Telx (www.telx.com) announced on Tuesday it has expanded the footprint of its colocation facility at 600 West 7th Street in Los Angeles by 40 percent.
The move comes just a few months after its previous expansion in October when it expanded the facility’s footprint by 50 percent.
The company has already pre-sold one-third of the newly expanded space in which it provides colocation and interconnection services.
The facility offers direct connections to a wide range of carriers, service providers, enterprises, media and entertainment firms, gaming companies and financial services providers.
In addition, customers can directly connect to most other downtown colocation facilities.
With a larger data center, existing Telx customers, such as hosting provider Tierzero, can expand their services, while Telx also has additional capacity to add new customers.
The additional space will provide security, power and cooling systems to ensure optimal reliability and up-time for Telx customers.
“Our Los Angeles facility is a strategically located, high-density connectivity hub that can immediately meet the latency, security and services requirements of the most demanding cloud computing, media and entertainment, gaming and financial services environments,” says Eric Shepcaro, CEO of Telx. “As demand for colocation space on the West Coast continues to increase, Telx remains committed to helping our customer base reduce the cost of network expansion and increase speed to market.”
