Telx Completes SAS 70 Type II Audit for 12 Data Centers

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Colocation provider Telx (www.telx.com) announced that it has completed a SAS 70 Type II report covering 12 of its data centers in New York, New Jersey, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Miami, Phoenix, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

The company recently closed a $175 million senior secured credit facility, including a $25 million revolving line of credit.

The report was issued following a thorough independent audit of Telx’s control processes in 12 facilities.

It demonstrates the company’s leadership in operational excellence and its commitment to providing efficient security and control processes for its customers.

Developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 provides a company’s customers and its independent auditors with information about the company’s internal control structure.

A Type II report indicates that the company has been officially audited, attesting to the design and operational effectiveness of procedures for security, controls and operations.

The audit confirms that Telx has implemented and follows these documented and controlled procedures in 12 locations in nine US cities.

The locations covered by the SAS 70 report include New York City’s 60 Hudson Street and 111 Eighth Avenue facilities, Atlanta’s 56 Marietta Street, Chicago’s 350 East Cermak and 600 South Federal facilities, Dallas’ 2323 Bryan Street and 8435 North Stemmons Freeway facilities, Clifton, New Jersey’s 100 Delawanna Avenue, Miami’s 36 North East 2nd Street, San Francisco’s 200 Paul Avenue, Los Angeles’ 600 West 7th Street and Phoenix’s 120 East Van Buren Street.

Performed by Weaver and Tidwell, the SAS 70 audit  evaluated Telx’s complete colocation and interconnection environment, including its transition and activation procedures, security, help desk, problem change management process, monitoring systems, operations, disaster recovery program and other elements.

“Telx is fully committed to following the most stringent security and operational controls to ensure we meet our enterprise and service provider customers’ key data center requirements,” says Brad Hokamp, CMO of Telx. “Achieving SAS 70 Type II Certification demonstrates Telx’s continued focus and investment to provide the highest level of service.”
