September 15, 2004 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — European colocation and managed services provider TeleCity (telecity.com) announced on Tuesday that it has signed a new contract with network operator TeliaSonera International Carrier (teliasonera.com) to provide it with managed data center services out of its facilities in Paris, France. Telia will rent a dedicated private suite, from which it will offer direct access to its pan-European network and range of wholesale services.

TeliaSonera will locate both backbone and application server infrastructure in the Paris facility, using it for the expansion of its European network. TeleCity is also providing an enhanced power supply, which will allow TeliaSonera to deploy more than 500 blade servers on behalf of its customers.

TeliaSonera International Carrier said TeleCity’s secure environment, highly skilled engineering team, managed services capability and flexibility with regards to the provision of electrical and other infrastructure were some of the main reasons for selecting TeleCity France.

“This is a major new contract for both TeleCity France and our customers,” says Michel Brignano, country manager for TeleCity France. “The agreement confirms our place as a major player in the French data center market and also enables us to offer our customers access to TeliaSonera International Carrier’s tier-1 international IP and capacity network.”
