May 1, 2006 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Colocation provider Telehouse (telehouse.com) announced on Monday that, along with telecommunications provider RCN (rcn.com), it will hold its free, monthly Breakfast On Broadway seminar on May 18 from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the Broadway Center in Manhattan. This monthÂ’s seminar will focus on new business and connectivity advantages resulting from MSO and CLEC mergers.

Felipe Alvarez, president of RCN Business Solutions, will discuss the benefits produced by tier 2 carrier mergers, using a combination of an MSO, CLEC, CAP and ISP to illustrate his points. Other topics to be covered are the metro, regional and national marketplaces moving forward, and how the enterprise can expect to benefit in areas like bulk business television, Internet services, redundancy, voice over Internet protocol and managed services.

Alvarez will also speak about gaining critical mass through mergers in the areas of network reach, expanded building coverage, route diversity, industry sector penetration and the ability to compete with the tier 1 carriers head-to-head.

Co-host RCN is a facilities-based provider of bundled cable, high-speed Internet and phone services. It delivers its products and services over its own fiber-optic local network to residential and small business customers in some of the most densely populated markets in the United States.

Telehouse’s April seminar focused on application acceleration and its relationship with business success.
