July 19, 2001 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Teleglobe (teleglobe.com), a global communications company, today announced an alliance with EMC Corporation (emc.com), a leader in information storage, to deliver EMC’s storage systems, software and services to Teleglobe’s next-generation web and application hosting center and eBusiness customers.

As part of the relationship, Teleglobe will deploy EMC Storage Area

Networks and Network Attached Storage systems for a range of customized,

network-based solutions. As part of EMC’s xSPerience Provider program, the

companies will work together on business and infrastructure planning and
r
development, product integration and differentiation as well as sales and
r
marketing support.

“Through this relationship, Teleglobe’s customers will have access to a

unique platform that provides a valuable layer of support and storage
r
management for clients with database-intensive applications,” said Bill

Nelson, EMC’s senior vice president of content and information center

markets. “It allows Teleglobe’s clients to add storage on demand, which

provides superior scalability for growth or unpredicted usage spikes.”

Teleglobe has recently announced other significant partnerships for its

hosting and eBusiness initiatives, and yesterday announced an agreement with
r
KPNQwest N.V. (a href=”http://www.kpnqwest.com”>kpnqwest.com) for the purchase of US$56 million in multiplev wavelengths on several of KPNQwest’s European routes.
