September 26, 2001 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Teleglobe (teleglobe.com), a global communications company, announced yesterday the formation of a partnership with Ubizen (ubizen.com), an e-security solutions provider, to deploy managed security solutions which
r

complement Teleglobe’s Internet Data Center security features.
r

r

Addressing the growing concern about Internet security, the partnership
r

offers Teleglobe’s hosting customers cost effective multiple layers of
r

security technologies and around-the-clock surveillance by Ubizen’s
r

information security experts, eliminating the need to identify, hire, train
r

and retain their own security experts. Teleglobe’s Managed Security Services
r

include firewall and Virtual Private Network monitoring and management,
r

intrusion detection monitoring, vulnerability scanning and security
r

consulting services. All services, provided 24x7x365 through Teleglobe’s IDC
r

Operations Center, are now also being managed through Ubizen’s three
r

globally dispersed Security Operations Centers in Europe and the United
r

States.
r

r

Under the agreement, Ubizen will also make available to Teleglobe use of its
r

security intelligence lab, which collects, researches and disseminates
r

information on vendor products, viruses and vulnerabilities.
r

r

According to a recent report by Current Analysis, the managed security
r

market is emerging, with an estimated market between $100 and $250 million
r

and an anticipated growth rate of 50% over the coming year. The report rates
r

long-term prospects excellent, citing the increasing number and complexity
r

of mission-critical services provisioned over the Web and the expansion of
r

online strategies beyond the capabilities and capacities of in-house staffs.
r

r

“Companies have significantly raised the bar in terms of security
r

requirements for their e-business partners, and recent privacy legislation
r

has compelled corporations to implement sound information security
r

practices,” said Luis Fiallo, Teleglobe’s vice president of marketing for
r

e-business solutions. “In the world of e-security, Ubizen’s managed security
r

services set the standard, providing solutions with global scale and scope
r

for all of our customers’ needs.”
r

r

Teleglobe’s 2001 data center deployment schedule includes centers in
r

Washington, D.C., Miami and Montreal. These centers will offer customers
r

dedicated, managed and application hosting as well as co-location services.
r

In addition to Ubizen, the company has announced other world class partners,
r

including Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, Cisco, EMC, Inktomi, Nortel and Sun
r

Microsystems.
