(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — European carrier-neutral data center operator Interxion (www.interxion.com) announced on Wednesday that Telecom Italia Sparkle (www.tisparkle.com) has extended its relationship with Interxion by locating equipment in the company’s recently completed Frankfurt 5 data center.
The announcement follows Interxion’s recent partnership with Internet Neutral Exchange partnership which extended INEX’s infrastructure into Interxion’s two Dublin data centers.
Telecom Italia Sparkle already has a presence in Interxion’s Frankfurt 2, Dusseldorf, Brussels, Paris and Vienna data centers.
The teleco’s network continues to expand both in footprint and capacity in order to support its wholesale connectivity services portfolio.
Interxion’s Frankfurt data centers make up Germany’s largest data hub, which will give Telecom Italia Sparkle the opportunity to meet new customers and peering partners.
The hub offers direct connectivity to over 150 carriers and Internet service providers as well as 80 percent of the members of German Internet exchange DE-CIX.
The Frankfurt 5 facility can supply up to 30kW per cabinet to meet power requirements for the latest high-density server configurations. It features free air cooling as standard to optimize energy efficiency.
“We are extremely pleased that Telecom Italia Sparkle has again expanded in Frankfurt, and we are dedicated to building on our successful relationship with them,” says Anthony Foy, managing director of Interxion Group. “There is currently no other data center in the region that can provide such high levels of connectivity, power, energy efficiency and service. We are continuously striving to extend and enhance these offerings, not just in Germany but in all 25 of our data centers across Europe.”
