Teleco Telx Links GTT for Gigabit Ethernet

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Worldwide network integrator Global Telecom and Technology (www.gt-t.net) announced on Monday that colocation provider and data center operator Telx (www.telx.com) is now offering Gigabit Ethernet connectivity via GTT’s network to its interconnection and colocation customers in eight US cities.

The announcement follows GTT’s recent acquisition of IT services provider WBS Connect.

Through this relationship, GTT’s GigE infrastructure will be available via Telx’s dedicated Internet access solution, giving customers more high-performance connectivity choices.

GTT says it has established relationships with over 800 global network operators, which lets them deliver network services all around the world.

By using GTT’s GigE connections Telx can offer a greater network capacity for its DIA service, a network-neutral environment delivering colocation and automated routing to provide a “reliable, dedicated Internet connection” for business customers, says the company.

This allows Telx to provision connectivity services quickly, offering more flexibility on the speed and availability of IP throughput while also providing burst capability up to the full GigE speed.

“Telx has a long relationship with GTT, serving as their interconnection and colocation partner in eight key US markets for four years,” says Eric Shepcaro, CEO of Telx. “We are pleased to bring the unique value proposition of GTT’s industry experience and innovative technology to our Dedicated Internet Access customers, giving them more choice in secure, network-neutral, low-latency connections that meet their business communications needs.”
