Telehouse America names new CEO

June 28, 2004 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Neutral colocation space and services provider, TELEHOUSE International Corporation of America (telehouse.com), has named Masahiro Furuya as its president and chief executive officer.
Prior to joining TELEHOUSE America, Furuya served as director of research and editorial department for the ITU Association of Japan. Furuya has also held positions at TELEHOUSE America's parent corporation, KDDI, and at KDD before its merger with DDI Corp. and IDO Corp.
"[Furuya] will facilitate Telehouse's development," says Shigeru Minatani, President and CEO of KDDI America Inc., parent company of TELEHOUSE America, "and its ability to offer even greater value to customers in the Internet, telecom, data processing, financial, and corporate markets that require the security, power protection, and communications necessary to ensure reliable operations of their systems."
Furuya started his career at Kokusai Denshin Denwa, Ltd., where he excelled in the submarine cable system planning division. He later became President of Telecomet International GMBH.
