February 10, 2003 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Secure colocation space and services provider TELEHOUSE America (Telehouse.com) and not-for-profit open source Internet protocol reference implementation developer Internet Software Consortium (ISC.org) announced on Monday that they will jointly establish mirrors of the F-root DNS name root server at two TELEHOUSE America locations.

According to TELEHOUSE, the new servers are a mirror of one of the world?s 13 root servers, and will enable ISC to provide and maintain a more reliable Internet infrastructure in the U.S.

The agreement with TELEHOUSE helps ISC operate a more robust DNS mechanism by mirroring its root server in two additional U.S. locations. Through the partnership, TELEHOUSE will provide colocation services, hosting services and Gigabit Ethernet peering points in its New York International Internet Exchange (NYIIX) Los Angeles International Internet Echange (LAIIX).

"Our facilities will provide ISC with the security and reliability it needs to maintain its F-root server as a vital service to the U.S. Internet community," said Hideki Akazawa, President and CEO, TELEHOUSE America. "We look forward to playing a key role in the future growth of the Internet through a long term relationship with this esteemed organization."
