Tech Data Belgium Enters SaaS Market Using Parallels Automation

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — European technology distributor Tech Data Belgium (www.techdata.be) has launched Fusyx, its foray into the Software as a Service market, offering a complete set of small and medium-sized business services based on Parallels Automation software.

According to virtualization and automation software developer Parallels (www.parallels.com) in its Thursday announcement, Fusyx, which uses Parallels Operations Automation and Parallels Business Automation, is able to automate all aspects of cloud service delivery, including flexible billing and customer self-service.

“We are very happy that Thynx can provide the services we need to offer our value-added partners access to the SaaS market,” Tech Data Azlan division manager Pieter van Hertbruggen said in a statement. “This is a strategic decision to be part of this growing market and to enable our channel to complete their product portfolio while ensuring Tech Data remains as their preferred supplier…. We have worked closely with Parallels before so we are very pleased that they are the automation partner within this offering.”

Parallels Operations Automation delivers a complete end-to-end automation platform, allowing Fusyx to deliver hosted Microsoft Exchange, Windows SharePoint, Microsoft Office Communications Server, BlackBerry services, shared hosting for Windows and Linux, VPS hosting based on Parallels Virtuozzo Containers, hosting Microsoft CRM and Windows media streaming. Parallels Business Automation complements this with complete ordering and billing.

“Parallels Automation software creates an easy way to enter and access the Software-as-a-Service market and is a cost-effective and scalable solution,” Thynx chief executive officer Yves Blancquaert said in a statement. “It allows us to manage the fully automated platform for Fusyx and to focus on the channel and let the automation be managed by Parallels.”

Fusyx will work together with one of its partners, Thynx (www.thynx.com), a Belgian Infrastructure as a Service provider, which will maintain, monitor and support the cloud services platform for Tech Data Belgium.

Initial training for channel partners is scheduled for December 15 to 22.
