SWsoft Powers COMBELL Plans

January 10, 2008 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting software provider SWsoft (swsoft.com) announced on Thursday that Belgium-based Web hosting provider COMBELL GROUP (combell.com/en/combell/pp.asp) has launched a new line of virtual server hosting plans powered by SWsoft’s Virtuozzo software.

COMBELL’s new offering gives customers control over their own virtual environment through root access and empowers them to perform application installation, backup and reboot processes, says the company. Virtuozzo partitions a physical server into multiple, isolated containers to provide customers with an economical alternative to dedicated servers.

“With SWsoft Virtuozzo, our new virtual server offering delivers exceptional performance and results, and allows our customers the flexibility to work how they want to work,” says Frederik Poelman, technical director at COMBELL. “Virtuozzo’s server density ratio, performance response rates and streamlined administrative management tools allow us to easily manage large numbers of virtual environments without affecting the customer experience.”

Yesterday, SWsoft released the beta version of Parallels Server.
