SWsoft Announces SiteBuilder Winners

August 21, 2006 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting software provider SWsoft (swsoft.com) announced on Monday that it had determined the winners of its SiteBuilder for Windows Contest. Sponsored by SWsoft, Microsoft, Dell and Dotster, the contest asked US college students to create original Web sites using SWsoft’s SiteBuilder software.

Six grand prize winners were awarded new Dell Notebooks, and all contestants received free Web hosting for six months from Dotster. To win, contestants were asked to publicize their Web sites to petition for the most public votes

The six grand prize winners are 24-year-old Philip Akida of Santa Monica College, 18-year-old Alejandro Gutierrez of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, 19-year-old Bryce Johnston of Dodge City Community College, 19-year-old Jacob Miller of Loyola Marymount University, 18-year-old Andrew Rouhafzai of University of Virginia, and 24-year-old Wasif Syed of Cornell University.

“It was exciting to see the enthusiasm of these talented students for this opportunity to explore Web site creation and hosting early on,” says Kurt Daniel, VP of marketing and alliances for SWsoft. “SiteBuilder for Windows, which we co-developed with Microsoft, provided the students with an approachable tool for building and editing Web sites, and Dotster provided them with an excellent experience through a free, six-month hosting offer.”
