August 17, 2001 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Swsoft (sw-soft.com), a leading provider of hosting
r
infrastructure solutions and 1-Net Singapore (1-net.com.sg), an Asian
r
Internet powerhouse, have announced the creation of a new hosting service,
r
Virtual@1-Net (virtual.1-net.com.sg) based on SWsoft’s patent-pending HSPcomplete hosting solution.
r
r
Virtual@1-Net uses HSPcomplete’s Virtuozzo technology to give customers
r
complete control over their own private e-business server in a shared
r
environment, turning Dell PowerEdge servers into datacenter-class mainframe
r
machines, and effectively eliminating the need for expensive “big-iron.”
r
r
In addition to hardware cost reductions passed on to the end-user, the
r
solution is designed to give customers better ways to manage their hosting
r
environment through advanced web-based interfaces and rapid application
r
provisioning.
r
r
Virtual@1-Net uses the resource management capabilities of Virtuozzo to
r
provide the customer custom services. Customers can purchase a private
r
server with full administrator access for under US$10 per month and upgrade
r
their bandwidth, CPU and storage as their needs increase. For comparison,
r
the U.S. hosting company Verio offers similar services based on in-house
r
technology starting at US$149.95 per month. The companies say the cost
r
savings can be attributed to the efficiency of Swsoft’s Virtuozzo
r
technology.
r
r
According to Dr. Alexander Tormasov, chief scientist for SWsoft, “Virtuozzo
r
is more advanced than anything else on the market. In this rapidly changing
r
environment, customers are demanding more versatile and flexible hosting
r
environments to manage their business,” he said.
r
r
This new service is geared toward resellers as it enables them to have total
r
control of the web hosting facility without investing any capital assets.
r
“HSPcomplete with Dell PowerEdge Server infrastructure is designed to help
r
hosting providers offer the best and most cost-effective services from
r
shared web hosting for small and medium businesses to cluster configurations
r
for enterprise customers,” said Serguei Beloussov, founder and CEO of
r
SWsoft. “Network infrastructure outsourcing and e-business enablement are
r
the strongest trends of this century.”
