September 28, 2004 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting automation and virtualization software maker SWsoft (sw-soft.com) announced on Tuesday that it has formed a partnership with storage and systems management software provider Acronis (acronis.com) for the joint development and marketing of SWsoft’s Virtuozzo and Acronis’s True Image Server 8.0 for enterprises and hosting providers.

Through the agreement, Acronis’s disk imaging, system backup and disaster recovery solutions True Image Server and True Image Enterprise Server will be integrated into SWsoft’s Virtuozzo virtual private server technology.

Customers will be able to instantly-provision new physical servers using Acronis’s tools on Linux or Windows. Once deployed, the Virtuozzo-powered servers can be partitioned into virtual servers.
