Plesk 7 incorporates 60 new enhancements, including a new sub-domain manager, a multi-level trouble ticketing system, custom button and skin management, a site builder and osCommerce e-commerce software support. The software also features a newly designed Windows XP-like user interface, is equipped SpamAssassin, an open source anti-spam tool, and includes "Application Vault," an extendible application repository that allows point and click packaging, configuration and installation for hundreds of applications.
"Since the acquisition [of Plesk], we tripled the investment in Plesk-related R&D and now it pays off," said Serguei Beloussov, CEO of SWsoft. "In addition to Plesk 7 and Plesk 8, we now have several other incredible products in development for 2004 including a multi-server distributed management system for Plesk servers providing hosting resellers with centralized management capabilities from a single uniform interface. Tighter integration of our Plesk and Virtuozzo technologies?is also in the works now and will be released shortly."
Plesk 7 is the second upgrade to the control panel since SWsoft acquired Plesk in June of last year. Following the acquisition, SWSoft released version 6 of Plesk and in November released Plesk 6.5 for Windows 2003.
SWsoft also announced that it had completed a deal with Web hosting provider 1&1 Internet, making it the first company to offer Plesk 7 on Red Hat Linux 9.
"We are thrilled to have completed a deal with SWsoft to be the first Web hosting provider in the world to offer Plesk 7 for Red Hat 9," said Andreas Gauger, CEO of 1&1 Internet. "We've found the interface redesign to be cleaner and more powerful, and certainly the best choice of hosting control panels for our customers. Thanks to Plesk, we?re able to offer 1&1 customers the ability to configure, administer, control and maintain their dedicated server and email addresses."
SWsoft said customers who purchase Plesk 7 licenses before March 1 will receive a free package of add-on features valued at $296.

October 2009 - Web Hosting's All Star Team
This has been, for us, one of the most interesting, exciting and challenging build-ups to an issue of the magazine yet, Web Hosting's All Star Team. The balloting process was our first experiment with a kind of user participation we're planning to do a lot more with in the months to come. We had thousands of ballots submitted, with hundreds of write-in suggestions and a demonstration of user engagement that has us feeling super positive about the project.

July 2009 - What am I Worth?
One of the interesting luxuries of working on a project like the printed WHIR magazine is that it allows us to play with things like our point of view from one issue to the next. In recent months we've been giving added attention to the kind of practical and applicable advice aimed at smaller hosts and resellers. This issue carries on with that point of view, asking, in our cover story, "what am I worth?" It's a complicated question without a clear-cut answer.

May 2009 - The Blueprint for a Small Web Host
I was a little surprised by how difficult it became to see this idea through. We set out to assemble a blueprint for a small hosting business, but butted up pretty quickly against the general impossibility of covering all the territory that was out there to be covered. The basic constraints of a printed magazine, and the less-than-infinite amount of time we had available forced us to face the fact that we could never produce an exhaustive guide to starting a hosting company.
