“I am pleased with what has been accomplished in successfully growing the company over the past few years. It required quickly revising growth plans and building a scalable model that led to profitability, while continuing to grow the customer base,” said Higgins. “The acquisition plans we implemented enabled us to build a much stronger company. With this strong platform in place, it is an excellent time for me to pursue some exciting new professional and personal opportunities, while being comfortable the company is well positioned for new leadership to take the company to its next stage of growth.”

The company said Higgins has overseen a six-fold increase in revenue over a three-and-a-half-year period.

“Patricia has provided Switch and Data with excellent leadership in a very difficult market. Many of Switch and Data’s competitors were not able to achieve the kind of positive results she was able to achieve while leading the company,” said Bill Luby, chairman of Switch and Data. “Patricia led the company by staying focused on the core business, acquiring new customers, exceeding financial goals and building a strong management team. We are pleased Patricia has agreed to serve on the Board to help ensure an orderly transition.”
