(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web analytics firm Netcraft (www.netcraft.com) announced last week that Swishmail and Verio topped the most reliable hosting company sites for November.
This is a stark contrast from last month, where SingleHop and Acens had the most reliable hosting company sites for October 2009.
The New York-based Swishmail provides business email hosting, as well as several Web hosting plans which all include access to a webmail client and shared calendars.
Verio provides Web hosting and SaaS applications through its distributed network of OEM and viaVerio channel partners.
Six of this month’s most reliable hosting company sites were using Linux, including Verio, while both Swishmail and New York Internet were operating on FreeBSD.
Meanwhile, Netcetera is the only site this month that is using Microsoft IIS 6.0 on Windows Server 2003.
Netcraft measures and makes available the response times of 50 leading hosting providers’ sites.
The company makes performance measurements at 15 minute intervals from separate points around the Internet. It then determines the averages over the immediately preceding 24 hour period.
