(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) – Swedish Web host Binero (www.binero.se) announced on Wednesday that it will deploy IT services provider Afilias  (www.afilias.info) FlexDNS Platform to provide Anycast services to its customers.

According to the press release, the Afilias FlexDNS platform enables resellers, registraras, domain registry operators, and enterprises to leverage the platform as a primary or secondary DNS solution.

“Uptime has become a critical factor for customers choosing a Web hosting company,” John Kane, vice president of corporate services for Afilias said in a statement. “It’s a point of pride for Afilias to provide a leading company like Binero with an advanced — and 100 percent guaranteed — DNS solution that enhances the resiliency, reliability and security of their network.”

Afilias says its platform can be managed through a Web portal, a simple AXFR or an advanced API.

“For the last four years, Binero has set standards for hosting in Sweden. Working with Afilias now gives us a new, significant lead. With Afilias, we have a global Anycast network, so now when someone tries to reach a Binero-hosted website, they are more likely to reach it than if the site were hosted at another provider,” Anders Aleborg, CEO of Binero said in a statement.

“Along with greater stability, Afilias’ FlexDNS Platform gives us radically improved security against DDoS attacks. I’m so confident in our new services that I guarantee Binero’s name servers will be available 100 percent of the time for our hosting, domain and DNS clients,”
