Superb Internet's new data center, DCA3 in Springfield, Virginia.
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider Superb Internet (http://superbhosting.net) announced on Monday it has opened its new data center, DCA3 in Springfield, Virginia.
The facility, which marks the company’s second east coast data center, has a capacity to add 12,000 more servers.
The new data center comes at the perfect time, as the company’s other east coast facility, DCA2 data center in McLean, Virginia, is at over 90 percent capacity.
The DCA3 data center is powered by eight redundant UPS systems, two redundant parallel 1.25MW diesel generators, redundant gigabit Ethernet-based network using Cisco backbone-grade equipment, and offers 10s of gigabits per second of redundant fibre DWDM capacity on site.
The data center also is ready for incoming dedicated utility power transformer upgrades, as well as additional UPS and AC capacity expansion, as needed.
The company is currently offering an online tour of the data center, which is staffed by certified system and network engineers around the clock, on its website.
Superb Internet also recently launched its OS Hardening services provided by the company’s Professional Services Division.
Launched in response to the many requests for help on security improvements, Superb Internet’s OS Hardening service implements the latest OS patches & updates, deactivating unnecessary programs, and following procedures and policies to reduce malicious attacks and system downtime.
The service is priced at a one-time fee of $95, and for a limited time, the service includes a complimentary vulnerability scan report.
