February 3, 2005 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Sun Microsystems (sun.com) and EDS (eds.com) announced on Wednesday that they are in the midst of negotiating a new eight-year managed services contract that will see EDS migrate Sun’s data centers to the EDS Agile Enterprise Platform, its global delivery system. The two companies also announced that they have entered an agreement to jointly deliver IT and utility computing services based on Sun’s Solaris 10 operating system to large enterprise customers.

EDS’ Agile Enterprise Platform, based on Solaris 10 OS, provides flexible IT systems that enable enterprises to manage change through agile processes, applications and technology architectures. EDS has provided Sun with data center services since 2000. The partnership dates back to 1997.
