(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Software provider StrataScale (stratascale.com) announced on Tuesday the appointment of Robert Vincent as general manager and chief operating officer of the company.
StrataScale is a subsidiary of data center operator and managed hosting provider RagingWire (ragingwire.com) and is perhaps best known for its IronScale product, a fully automated managed server hosting solution that delivers the benefits of virtualization but with physical servers. IronScale was first announced in August and became available on the market in September.
According to the company’s most recent announcement, Vincent will be bringing over 20 years of business knowledge into his role at StrataScale and was most recently VP, Americas for the CodeGear division of Borland Software. Prior to that, Vincent’s held key management positions at Intel, Xircom and DataCenter Technologies.
“Bob has a track record of building high performance teams and achieving aggressive goals,” says Yatish Mishra, president and chief technology officer of StrataScale. “IronScale is a game-changing product in an exploding market, and we are very pleased to have Bob on our leadership team to help make the most of this opportunity.”
Details of Vincent’s responsibilities within his new role weren’t mentioned in the announcement.
StrataScale’s announcement follows a couple of new executive hires that have been released in the last two weeks.
Earlier this week, managed hosting provider Verio reported that it has appointed Gus Salamoun its senior VP of global service delivery.
And in late November, data center operator Equinix announced it had appointed Jarrett Appleby its chief marketing officer, effective December 8.
