(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data protection and business continuity solutions provider Data Storage Corporation (www.dscorp.net) announced on Wednesday it has appointed Richard Rebetti to chief operating officer.
The move comes a few months after the company named Larry Putterman to its board of directors.
Rebetti has more than 20 years of operational management and merger and acquisition experience at technology and telecommunications organizations, including one year with DSC.
As COO, he will be responsible for managing the company’s day-to-day operations, as well as overseeing its marketing and information systems functions.
“We are delighted to have Rich back on board at DSC. His experience and industry expertise are a perfect complement to the skill-sets of the rest of our management team,” said Chuck Piluso, Chairman and CEO of Data Storage Corporation. “With his wealth of industry knowledge, proven track record and strong leadership capabilities, we expect that Rich will be a significant contributor on our management team in driving the company’s performance and profitability.”
Prior to joining DSC, Rebetti was the chief technology officer for STi Prepaid, a $300 million division of Leucadia National and also held the position of COO for Telco Group/STi Prepaid.
In this position he helped streamline customer facing and back office systems and processes through technology enhancements and automation.
Headquartered in Garden City, New York, Data Storage Corp’s solutions include offsite data protection and recovery services, high availability replication services, email compliance solutions for e-discovery, continuous data protection, data de-duplication, virtualized system recovery and telecom recovery services.
Last month, DSC announced it renamed its data protection product line as the result of its acquisition of SafeData in June 2010.
