(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider Host Europe announced on Wednesday that it has will distribute StopTheHacker’s suite of website security services across all of its companies. Its UK reseller hosting company Heart Internet will be the first to launch StopTheHacker security service to its customers.
StopTheHacker was at Parallels Summit last week after receiving $1.1 million in initial funding from Parallels and Runa Capital’s software startup accelerator program. The program invests in software vendors that certify and package their software for Parallels’ Application Packaging Standard.
StopTheHacker said in an earlier interview with the WHIR that it feels web hosting providers have an opportunity to offer customers a security solution that most do not have. CEO Peter Jensen says there is a need for website security as web hosting customers get blacklisted and blame their hosting provider. He also claims its service offers a high conversion rate for web hosts, and because of its integration with Parallels is easy for web hosts to implement. As customers become more aware of security issues through high-profile hacks, security can be a relatively easy upsell for hosting providers.
The Host Europe partnership will help distribute StopTheHacker’s security services, including vulnerability assessment, and its SaaS malware website scanner, to more than one million customers worldwide. Between Heart Internet, Webfusion, 123-Reg and Host Europe, the group manages 4.5 million domains.
“This is our largest strategic partnership in the European web hosting market to date,” Peter Jensen, CEO of StopTheHacker said in a statement. “The Host Europe Group has a growing reputation for delivering cutting-edge hosting services to their customer base. We believe our web healthcare services will be of significant interest to all businesses whose reputation and profitability depends on maintaining a malware-free website.”
The Host Europe Group can offer StopTheHacker as a value-add to its domain registration, managed hosting, cloud hosting and SaaS offering customers.
“We chose to partner with StopTheHacker because we like the fact that their service is unique in that it is designed for website owners and website providers, rather than for individual computers,” Thomas VOllrath, CEO Host Europe Group said in a statement. “Where this becomes important is around the growing number of malware attacks, which can be severe in terms of increased support costs, damaged reputation, increased churn and lost revenues. StopTheHacker’s suite of services helps catch more malware than other solutions on the market, and we feel this will be of great interest and value to our customers who need more than ever to protect their online reputation.”

More such initiations should be taken to ensure that hackers are kept at bay and the websites are secure.
