State of Arizona Chooses Websense in EIM Contract

November 5, 2001 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — The State of Arizona (az.gov) has selected Websense Inc.(websense.com) as its employee Internet management (EIM) solution of choice. Under this contract, orders have been received totalling more than $1 million. Hundreds of Arizona public entities – from city and county governments to police departments to municipal services – can now subscribe to Websense Enterprise software under the exclusive agreement.

Entities that have purchased under the contract include the City of Phoenix,Maricopa County and the Arizona School Facilities board. As more Arizonastate government agencies take part in this agreement in the coming months,it could become one of the largest deployments of Websense Enterprisesoftware to date. The State of Arizona currently has approximately 200,000government employees.

“This contract clearly demonstrates Websense’s position as the filteringstandard for government organizations throughout the United States,” saidJohn B. Carrington, Websense chairman and CEO. “EIM software is an integralpart of every computer network for both businesses and government agencies.In fact, more than 350 city governments and 75 U.S. government agenciescurrently use Websense to manage employee use of the Internet at work.”

Governments continue to choose Websense Enterprise over smaller-suitedcompetitors because of the software’s ability to integrate with a variety ofenterprise-level Internet appliances, such as firewalls and caching engines,and its robust Master Database with more than 600 million categorized Webpages.
