SPS Commerce Acquires Owens Direct

February 28, 2006 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Software-as-a-service provider SPS Commerce (spscommerce.com) announced on Tuesday it has acquired electronic data interchange provider Owens Direct (owensdirect.com).

The deal expands SPS’s current operations and SaaS services to include hundreds of new electronic connections to its more than 12,000 customers, as well as establishes strong customer relationships with more than 1,000 retailers, grocers and buying groups.

Additionally, the acquisition will provide SPS Commerce customers with integrated services for bar code and shipping labels without any additional software requirements, and the ability to integrate directly with a broader set of accounting packages including Peachtree, QuickBooks, ACCPAC, Great Plains, Oracle and SAP.

Owens customers will have access to SaaS supply chain applications including UPC catalogs and online ordering.

“This synergy ensures a smooth transition for Owens’ staff, customers and partners with no or minimal impact on their everyday operations and contacts,” says Archie Black, president and chief executive officer at SPS Commerce. “Together, we are looking forward to providing our customers with another year of hassle-free EDI.”
